Jackrabbit’s email, and when a dedicated email tool helps

Jackrabbit Class is studio management software, and email to families is built in. This page sets out what that email does, from Jackrabbit’s own help center, and where a dedicated email tool like Reach adds something. Reach doesn’t replace Jackrabbit; it can sit beside it.

Jackrabbit

What Jackrabbit’s email does.

According to Jackrabbit’s help center, you can:

  • Email one family or student, or send a mass email to a group, including staff.
  • Send as many emails as you like: Jackrabbit says there’s no limit.
  • Start from its email templates, add attachments and images, and schedule an email to send later.
  • Check sent-email, bounce and scheduled-email reports, and let families opt out of mass emails.
  • Get drafting help from Zippy AI, its email assistant.
  • Text families through a Twilio integration (US and Canada, paid subscribers), at extra cost: a one-time setup fee of up to $69, $4.90 a month per number, and $0.02 per text sent or received.

The help center is also clear about one limit: Jackrabbit “can’t tell you who opens and reads the emails you send.”

Which to pick

An honest answer.

Stay with Jackrabbit’s email if you mostly send class notices and announcements, and you don’t need to know who read them. It’s already connected to your enrollment data, which a separate tool isn’t.

Add a dedicated email tool when you want to see who opens and clicks, run welcome or re-enrollment emails that go out on their own, or market to people who aren’t enrolled yet, like trial-class leads and past families. That’s what Reach is for, and it has a free plan to try it on.

Questions

Is Jackrabbit’s built-in email good enough for a dance studio?

For many studios, yes. It can email one family, a class or everyone, with templates, attachments and send-later scheduling, and there’s no limit on how many emails you send. What its own help center says it can’t do is tell you who opened and read them.

Can I use Reach alongside Jackrabbit?

Yes, as a separate email tool. Export families from Jackrabbit as a spreadsheet (CSV) and import them into Reach. The two don’t sync automatically, so new families need adding to Reach too, for example through Reach’s sign-up form.

Does StudioAnchor replace Jackrabbit?

Not today. StudioAnchor’s class scheduling and registration module, Book, is in development. Reach covers email only.

How much does Jackrabbit cost?

Jackrabbit’s pricing page says Jackrabbit Class pricing starts at $49 a month, tiered by your total student count at the end of each month. Texting through its Twilio integration costs extra.
